JAMMU: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) on Wednesday staged protest against the heavy mortar shelling on border villages of Kathua, Samba, RS Pura, Nowshera, Rajouri and Poonch Districts by Pakistan.
The protesters demanded that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi should immediately visit Jammu and Kashmir State and ensure deployment of more forces in the State.
Led by President JWAM, Sunil Dimple, the activists assembled at New Plot area and burnt the effigies of Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif.
Demanding befitting reply against Pakistan, Sunil asserted that it is unfortunate that for the last four months the Kashmir is burning and the State Government has failed to restore normalcy in the Valley.
Dimple urged upon the Governor N.N Vohra to recommend the Central Government for the imposition of the Governor’s rule in the State.
Sat Pal Kohli, Madan Lal, Dev Raj, Ram Parkash Khajuria, Vijay Khajuria, Dev Raj, D.N Magotra, Vicky, Mukesh, Vipan, Ashok Khanna, Golu Singh, Mukesh, Babu, Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Rakesh were also present.
