JAMMU: University of Jammu (JU) on Tuesday qualified for the third round of quarterfinals in the ongoing North Zone Inter-University Basketball Tournament beating Kumoun University, Nainital 87-44.
Earlier, Kumoun University gave JU a tough fight in the first quarter of the game making it 12-12 but only to be overpowered by latter taking 38-28 lead at the end of first half, reports reaching here informed.
Amanjot Singh remained top scorer with 21 points, followed by Shubam Sharma and Rohan, who contributed 16 and 15 points respectively. Jaskeerat Singh also made valuable contribution of 11 points.
Now, in the quarterfinals, scheduled for Wednesday morning, JU shall take on Jamia Milia Islamia. Earlier, Jamia Milia Islamia defeated Lucknow University in the third round of the competition on Tuesday.
