J&K Junior Wushu team remained 5th in the medal tally with 1 Gold, 04 Silver and 03 Bronze medals. Kaifa Shah in 56Kg bagged Gold medal for the UT J&K in the 21st Junior National Wushu championship held at Calicut (Kerala) from 1-6th September 2022. Mohd Ali, Musharaf, Ajmal and Ansa Chisti bagged silver medals while Mohd Amir, Vasu and Palkeet Singh bagged Bronze medals in the championship.

Approximately 1100 players from 36 Units of the Wushu Association of India took part in the championship.

 The Technical committee of the Wush Wushu Association of India will finalise the list of the campers shortlisted through National Championship for the National Coaching camp in view of the 8th World Wushu championship scheduled to be held at Indonesia in the month of December 2022.

Wushu Association of J&K organised Coaching camp for the Junior Wushu team for the period of 2 Months at Polo Ground Srinagar. Kuldeep Handoo Dronacharya Awardee imparted the coaching to the Junior Wushu team and moreover the Senior Wushu team is also being trained by Kuldeep Handoo at the same venue. The President Vijay Saraf congratulated Junior Wushu team for the excellent performance in the National Championship. General Secretary of the Wushu Association Bhavneet also congratulated Junior Medalists for the outstanding performance. She thanked J&K Sports Council for the support and appealed the Government for allotment of centre of excellence for the Wushu as Wushu is the promising and medal Prospectus sports in the UT J&K.
