courtNew Delhi:- A voluntary organisation has demanded a judicial enquiry into Monday’s clash in Atali in Ballabgarh and strict action against the culprits, after its team visited the violence-affected village on the outskirts of Delhi.

After Monday’s violence, in which at least 20 houses were burnt down, many people fled the village with about 200 of them staying in Ballabgarh police station.

The team of ‘Janhastakshep’ said tension in the village had been building up since May 20, two days after the Haryana Chief Minister’s visit to inaugurate a power station, when an incident of stone pelting among the two communities was reported.

The organisation also questioned the role of police after holding talks with several victims of the incident and demanded that central police force be deployed to build trust and give security to the minority community.

“It’s unfortunate that despite so many days of violence, no central force has been deployed,” it said.

The organisation also demanded compensation and security for the victims.
