JAMMU: In view of the poor road connectivity and closure of the educational institutions aftermath devastations caused by the unprecedented rains, the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education of University of Jammu postponed sports events, which, otherwise, scheduled to start on Monday.
All three events of badminton (men and women), basketball (men) and kho-kho (men and women) have been postponed for 15th September at the same venue and time, a circular issued here on Monday informed.
Earlier, the Directorate called a meeting of the Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) and other incharge sports of the participating colleges. After holding deliberations, the Directorate decided to postpone the competitions.
Now, all three events shall take place from 15th September at already given venues and time.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau was attended by representatives from the participating colleges including Sumnesh Sharma, Nariyani Jamwal, Balbir Singh Chib, Dr Ranjodh Singh, Dr. Suram Singh, Sudesh Bhagat, Vikram Jamwal and Manjit Singh.
