JSS Jammu students excel in National Matsogi–Do C’Ship

JAMMU: The students of Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS), Jammu participated in the 12th National Matsogi-Do Championship 2016 held at Ambedkar Stadium, Bijapur, Karnataka recently.
The championship was organised by the Karnataka Matsogi-do Federation of India.
A total of 13 students from the school participated in under-17 and under-14 (boys and girls) in different events and got 21 medals including, six gold, six silver and nine bronze.
Medal winners individual fight were Rupleen Kour and Vikrant Singh (gold), Kulnoor Kour (silver) and Taruna Sabhrwal and Karanjeet Singh (bronze).
In a group fight, Shalvi Saini (gold), Rupleen Kour, Taruna Sabhrual, Vikas Bhagat and Kulnoor Kour (silver) and Ashish Saini (bronze).
In group Tuls Events, Shalvi Saini, Taruna Sabhrwal, Kulnoor Kour got gold medals, Armaan Bhatia, Vikas Bhagat, Ashish Saini, Vikrant Singh, Karanjeet Singh and Himanshu Bhardwaj secured bronze medals. The students of the school who participated in this championship were honoured in special assembly on Monday by Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson, Sports Coach Jagpreet Kour along with other the staff members.
Rohini Aima said that the school management is paying focused attention to promote physical education in school and is this regard sports infrastructure is being upgraded for providing platform to the students to take part in different sports activities.
