JNEG discusses issues facing journalists in Jammu

JAMMU: The Jammu Newspaper Editors Guild (JNEG) on Wednesday convened a significant meeting under the Chairmanship of Raj Daluja and President A.K. Sawhney, focusing on pressing issues facing media houses and journalists in the region.

Pominent editors participated in the meeting and discussed measures to enhance collaboration to address the collective challenges within the journalism community.
Key topics of discussion included the urgent need for a dedicated press colony in Jammu, which has become a focal point for many journalists, seeking improved working conditions and facilities.
The members emphasized the importance of such infrastructure in promoting a healthy media environment and enhancing the safety and accessibility for reporters and photographers.
In a spirit of recognition and celebration, JNEG announced plans to honor outstanding journalists and photographers in the coming days. This initiative aims to appreciate their unwavering commitment to truth and excellence in reporting, especially in a dynamic media landscape.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included, Iqbal Kazmi, Senior Vice President and Editor Udaan Urdu; Vishal Chopra, Chief Spokesperson and Editor Daily Jammu Metro, Vijay Gupta, General Secretary and Editor of Daily Young Bites; Ram Kumar Dubey, Vice President and Editor Daily Kattu Sattya; Vinod Kumar, Editor Truly Times; Amit Sawhney, Editor Journey Line; Puneet Arora, Editor Early Post; and Abhishek Kapoor, Editor Daily Reality Speaks.
