JMIC directs SDPO to conduct inquiry in complaint against Tehsildar, others

JAMMU : In response to a petition submitted by one Raj Kumar son of Anant Ram of Ban Talab, Jammu, the Judicial Magistrate Ist Class City Judge Jammu M.S Manhas has directed SDPO to carry out preliminary inquiry against Tehsildr Bantalab and others and submit report by next date of hearing, ie 30th Aug 2016.
According to the case the petitioner Raj Kumar filed an application before the Tehsildar North Jammu on 19th July, 2016 for issuance of a copy of Jamabandi and mutation. Since it was not provided to the petitioner within the allowed period of 10 days under J K Public Service Guarantee Act 2011, the applicant visited to the office of Tehsildar on 11th day, ie on 29 July, 2011.
The accused persons, ie Tehsildar, Peon Balbinder and Office Quanon-go Mohd Sadiq caught hold of the applicant, put him into a room, locked it from inside and thrashed him, inflicting grievous injury with paper weight on his head and threatened him of dire consequences. The petitioner prayed that police may be directed to register an FIR against the accused.
The JMIC apprehended that serious allegations are being made against the accused persons. Accordingly JMIC directed the SDPO concerned to conduct inquiry and submit report by 30th Aug, 2016.
