JAMMU: On the directions of Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mandeep Kaur, the Enforcement Wing led by Chief Enforcement Officer sealed the
commercial building which was under construction at Channi Himmat, Main Road.
“Chief Engineer (retired) (R&B) K.K Arora, the owner of the commercial building, raised the construction up to second floor by committing major violations, not adhering to the building norms,” JMC official said.
Giving details, the officials informed that Chief Engineer K.K Arora, a resident of Gandhi Nagar locality is constructing commercial complex at Channi Himmat violating all the norms.
Chief Engineer K.K Arora was earlier booked by State Vigilance Organisation in a purchase scam wherein Cat Eye Studs (Zazu made) were purchased from M/S R-Deen Trading Corporation Chandigarh on highly exorbitant rates.
“We found total violation at the under construction commercial building at Channi Himmat and consequently it has been sealed,” officials said.
Meanwhile, JMC Commissioner has requested public to get their building permissions approved by the JMC.
“JMC is committed to provide quality services to general public but it is also responsibility of the general masses to extend their helping hands to it,” she said.
