JMC regularises 535 sanitation workers

JAMMU: Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma kept his promise for the regularization of Safai saathis (Sanitation workers) within the time frame as promised by him in a press conference which was held in the month of November.
In the month of November, Mayor Jammu announced to fulfill the long pending demand of casual employees and issued directions to the JMC authorities for issuing notice under clause (3) of Regulation 10 of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Class-IV service (special provisions) Regulation, 2014 for seeking objections.
In pursuance to the directions of Mayor Jammu, a committee was constituted and the objections were taken.
After completing all the process and approval from the Administrative Department, the sanction has been accorded for regularization of 535 sanitation workers.
Mayor Jammu today handed over the formal order to the Safai Saathis in a gathering at Town hall premises of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
This was one of most awaited decision for which they are waiting from the last so many years. It is nothing less than a New year present for them. The decision restored sanitation workers hope for a brighter future.
Mayor Jammu congratulated all 535 sanitation workers who were regularized today after completion of 7 years of their services in Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Sanitation Workers Union thanks Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma for their best efforts for regularization of 535 sanitation workers.
They expressed their humble gratitude to the Mayor for his glorious decision by saying that if the mayor had come earlier, this would have been done already.
They also thank the Administration. Sanitation Workers Union assure Mayor Jammu that they will work with zeal & dedication.
The Mayor assured all the sanitation workers that he is with them as they are the soul of the system. He said that without the support of the Safai Saathis, the victory would have been unachievable. He further added that as we move forward, all problems of the Sanitation workers would be solved efficiently.
