JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Wednesday destroy 11 kg of unhygienic meat and realized Rs. 7,000 as fine from the defaulters.
The Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr. Zafar Iqbal along with field staff on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Simrandeep Singh and Commissioner JMC, Soujanya Sharma conducted a drive in the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Channi Himmat, Trikuta Nagar, Rail Head, Jewel, Gujjar Nagar etc to check the quality of meat. About 11 kg of unstamped meat was discarded at dumping ground Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu and fine to the tune of Rs. 7,000 has been realized from the defaulters.
JMC Commissioner said that the drive will remain continue in near future against all the food establishments running in the market and were directed to ensure the supply of good quality meat to the citizens of Jammu City.
