JKUT Govt approves 68 Teaching and Non-Teaching Positions for UIET, JU’s Kathua Campus

JAMMU: The Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (JKUT) has sanctioned 68 new teaching and non-teaching positions for the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) Kathua Campus, University of Jammu. This significant milestone underscores the commitment of both the University and the Jammu and Kashmir Government in advancing quality higher education and fostering academic excellence.
The approval of these 68 teaching and non-teaching positions, strategically designed to enhance the quality of education, support research initiatives, and improve administrative efficiency within the institute. These new roles will provide a robust foundation for UIET to expand its academic offerings by attracting distinguished faculty and staff.
Expressing gratitude to Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor and Chancellor of the University of Jammu, for his continuous support, Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, stated, “This approval marks a pivotal moment in UIET’s journey towards becoming a premier institution for engineering and technology education in the northern region.
The allocation of these positions will not only strengthen our academic and research capabilities but also ensure a more supportive and enriched learning environment for our students.”
The allocation of these positions is a testament to UIET’s continuous efforts to align with the Hon’ble Chancellor’s vision of fostering innovation, technological advancement, and academic excellence. While appreciating the sincere and concerted efforts of Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary-JKUT, Sh. Alok Kumar, IRS Principal Secretary to Govt, Higher Education Department, JKUT and Santosh D Vaidya, Principal Secretary to Government, Finance Department, JKUT in transferring these positions to the University, Prof. Umesh Rai also emphasized that the university is committed to recruiting top talent and providing unparalleled educational opportunities that prepare students to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global landscape.
Speaking on this significant development, Prof. Meena Sharma, Dean of Planning and Development, said that the University is thrilled about the possibilities this brings for our faculty and students. Prof Rahul Gupta, Registrar University of Jammu further added that these new positions will enable us to broaden our curriculum, initiate cutting-edge research projects, and provide our students with the resources and mentorship they need to excel in their respective fields.
