JKS Range Level Sports Festival; Samba wins in football, Kathua in cricket

JAMMU: Samba Sports Club won in football and Kathua Clubs registered victory in the cricket in ongoing JKS Range Level Sports Festival, organised by Range Police Headquarters Jammu under Civic Action Programme at Parade Ground, here on Wednesday.
In football, Samba Sports Club defeated Jammu Bethel Club by a solitary goal and also trounced Ranbir School Jammu via plenty shootout by four goals to three and entered in the next round.

Pawan Parihar SSP SO to DIG Jammu was the Chief Guest in the football match who was introduced with the participating teams.
In cricket, Bilad Club (BC) Kathua defeated Samba XI by 68 runs. Batting first, BC Kathua scored 166 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Raghu played a brilliant inning of 60 runs while Bhawani and Shubdeep added 23 and 21 runs respectively to the total.
For Samba XI, Abhi picked three wickets, Vinay took two and Ajaz and Wasim shared apiece each.
Samba XI, in reply, failed to chase the target and managed to score only 98 runs in 19.3 overs for the loss of ten wickets. Shivam with 16, Sameer 15 and Harsh 14 runs were the main scorers. For BC Kathua, Vishal claimed five wickets while Satyam, Ankush and Manmeet took one each.
For his five-wicket haul, Vishal was adjudged Man of the Match. In second match, Blaster Club Kathua trounced MIER Jammu by 19 runs.
Batting first, Blaster Club guided with the Sanampreet’s 56 run knock set a target of 151 runs for the loss of seven in 20 overs. Besides Sanampreet, Nikhal and Nishank contributed 25 and 15 runs respectively. For MIER Jammu, Nityam, Surinder and Rohit picked two wickets each while Hanny took one.
Batting second, MIER School could not achieve the target and was bowled out for 132 runs in 19.2 overs. Snoop was the top scorer with 33 while Anuj made 26 and Harihan added 18 runs to the total.
For Blaster Club, Nitin grabbed four wickets while Sanjay, Abay, Adihyan and Sanampreet shared one wicket each. For his all-round performance, Sanampreet was declared Man of the Match. Today’s matches were officiated by Saleem Ur Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Ashok, Sanju and Sandeep.
