RAMBAN: A meeting to carry out ‘Save Reservation Movement’ in favour of reserved category employees was held at Dak Banglow here under the leadership of Joginder Singh Rai, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Reserved Category Employees Association (JKRCEA) Chenab Valley.
Jawaz Iqbal Wani, Joint Secretary, JKRCEA, Shekeel Singh Bhagat, President Bhagat Maha Sabha Ramban, Bishan Dass President Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Ramban besides large number of members from Socio-religious groups, unemployed youth, etc attended the meeting.
Joginder Singh Rai highlighted the burning issues of reserved categories and chalked out strategy to fight for restoration of reservation in promotions. It was decided to hold protests, rallies, conferences at Ramban on 17th May for saving the interests of depressed classes, tribals, minorities and marginalized sections of the society besides educationally backward people including SC, ST, OSC and RBA.
Gulzbeer Daing JKRET Forum President Ramban, appreciated the JKRCEA movement and its efforts for the downtrodden and educationally backward people and also urged the need of organising protest rallies before the coming Assembly Session. A working committee of the District Ramban unit was also framed for smooth functioning and betterment of downtrodden and depressed classes.
Subash Chander was nominated as President, Shabir Ahmed Bali as Senior Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmed as Vice President, Zia-Ur-Rehman as General Secretary, Javid Ahmed as Joint Secretary, and Mohd Saleem as Cashier. Co-ordination Committee comprised of Farooq Ahmed Rounyal Chief Co-ordinator, Mohd Ayoub Ahanger as Co-ordinator, Abdul Latief, Gulam Nabi, Karnail Singh and Chain Singh were nominated as Co-ordination Committee members.
Active members include Rakesh Kumar, Omi Raj, Sandeep Kumar, Imtiaz Ahmed Rather, Fulail Singh, Mohd Irfan, Mohd Haneef, Girdhari Lal and Anjum Singh.
