JAMMU: Indian Navy Day is celebrated to honour the efforts and role of the Indian Navy in Operation Trident conducted during the Indo-Pakistan war in 1971.
Indian Navy Day was celebrated at JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi with much fervour.

The programme commenced with a speech by Shelley Anand and Raksha Thakur, the incharges of the celebration, on significance of the day highlighting the might of Indian Navy and its vital roles in maintaining maritime security to the nation.
Jakiians highlighted the Navy Day theme 2024 “Strength and Power through Innovation and Indigenisation,” emphasises the Navy’s focus on enhancing defence capabilities through self-reliance and cutting-edge technology.
Jakiians sang a patriotic song on Indian Navy followed by a skit in which the valour and the war tactics of Indian Navy was portrayed.
Jakiians explained to the audience that the Indian Navy is a three-dimensional force that operates above, on, and under the ocean’s surface to safeguard our country’s interests. Its main agenda is to improve its state of affairs in the Indian Ocean Zone.
The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah saluted the indomitable spirit and dedication of the Indian navy personnel for their selfless service and supreme sacrifice to the nation.
She further wished, “May our Naval forces continue to sail with pride and protect our shores.”
The Principal believes that a celebration is incomplete if the jakiians do not understand the depth of the celebrations. keeping this in mind she asked number of questions and the befitting ones were awarded.
