JKPS Kunjwani organizes heart-warming visit to “Home for Aged and Infirm People”

JAMMU: In a bid to sensitize students to the challenges faced by the elderly, and foster emotional bonds between generations, JK Public School Kunjwani organized a visit for 50 students from the psychology stream to the “Home for Aged and Infirm People”.
The visit was graced by the presence of Sh. I.D Soni, Former Commissioner and President of Bharat Scouts and Guides, who is also the Chief Patron of Hari Prabhu Sanstha Nagrota Gujroo Tehsil Billawar. Soni is a renowned advisor, consultant and member of numerous educational institutions in Jammu Province.
During the visit, students interacted with the senior members, learning about their experiences and the difficulties they face. The students engaged in meaningful conversations with the elderly, gaining valuable insights into the importance of grandparents and their contributions.
The students also visited the Sudhar Bikri Kendra to gain the experiential learning with regards to the vocational training being provided in the Central Jail, Jammu. The students showed their support by purchasing the handmade items prepared under the occupational training.
This visit was under the guidance of psychology teacher, Yashu Jain, aimed to bring about a sense of empathy and understanding among students, highlighting the significance of respecting and caring for the elderly.
