JAMMU: The students of Toddlers’ World visited Bahu Aquarium on Thursday. The students were thrilled to enter through the fish-shaped tunnel into the new world of sea creatures.
They were fascinated to see the colourful fish and other creatures like the turtle, sea horse, lobsters, sea snakes and many more. They got totally engrossed in observing their colours and movements. Teachers explained them about different species of fish.
A case full of fishing equipments was a source of attraction to the children. They were informed about the various tools of diving too. Teacher also explained them about the ill effects of water pollution to the fish and the ways to prevent it. They enjoyed each and every moment of it and came back with good memories. All in all, it was a very exciting day for our students.
Shivangani Pandotra, Coordinator Toddlers’ world, in her address said that the goal of this trip was to develop a sense of awareness and appreciation in the young minds towards the marine environment and its resources. This was an opportune moment for them to correlate with the topics they learn in the class room.
Principal Rajesh Rathore applauded the staff of the Toddlers’ World for exposing children to such a potential marine resource at an early stage. It opened new vistas of learning and realization in them.
“Every school must play a crucial role in the formation of positive attitudes towards the environment in young children. JKPS Kunjwani explores continuously the ways and means to develop environmental knowledge, perceptions and attitudes in young children. The development of effective environmental policies in every school must be evolved and established to promote an environmental awareness in the school population”, he further added.
