JKPS Kunjwani organises Vipul Dayal Memorial Inter-School Volleyball (U-17) Girls Championship

JAMMU: JK Public School, Kunjwani organised the Vipul Dayal Memorial Inter-School Volleyball (U-17) Girls Championship in the loving memory of Late Vipul Dayal, an outstanding, kind-hearted and passionate student of the school. The championship was organised to honour his legacy and to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition among young athletes.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was Siddharth Daluja, Member of Management and President of the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK), while Shashi Chaudhary, Director, JK Educational Society, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. Among the distinguished dignitaries present was Nazish Akhter, a national volleyball player and proud alumna of JK Public School, Kunjwani.
After the welcome address, Late Vipul Dayal’s Mother, Sangeeta Sharma, interacted with the students through a WhatsApp video call from New Zealand and inspired them to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship throughout the championship. Her heartfelt words deeply moved the audience and added emotional significance to the event.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation and spirited performances by young players competing for the coveted championship trophy. The final match was played between JK Public School, Kunjwani and Army Public School, BD Bari. Both teams displayed remarkable skill, determination and teamwork. The electrifying atmosphere marked by powerful smashes, swift rallies and enthusiastic cheers made the final a thrilling spectacle and truly reflected the high competitive standards of the championship.
In all, five teams from top notch CBSE schools participated in the championship, showcasing their talent, discipline and sporting excellence. The prize distribution ceremony was held in the benign presence of the distinguished guests during which medals and certificates were awarded to the participants. The Vipul Dayal Memorial Trophy was lifted by Army Public School, BD Bari, while JK Public School, Kunjwani emerged as the runners-up.
The School Volleyball Coach Shubham Mehta and the HOD (Sports) Mr Subash Chander appreciated the efforts of all participating teams and commended the players for their dedication, discipline and exemplary sportsmanship reaffirming the school’s commitment to nurturing young sporting talent. The programme concluded with felicitation of referees followed by a vote of thanks presented by Sports Captain Samridhi Sharma.
