JKPS Kunjwani conducts workshop on ‘remaining relevant and effective through self-awareness’

JAMMU: ‘Self awareness is the key to a happy life and highly effective leadership process requires self mastery. One must learn to master and lead oneself before one can lead others.’
To empower educators a workshop was conducted for Assistant Professors, lecturers and teachers of various Colleges, CBSE and State Board Schools at JK Public School, Kunjwani on ‘Remaining Relevant and Effective Through Self-Awareness’ by Dr. Raj Singh, Vice Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University, Chandigarh. In continuation with celebrating 25th year of establishment this is one of the steps initiated by the school towards relevant improvement of educators of entire Jammu in the field of education. Singh has served Indian Airforce for about 14 years prior to entering the field of education. He has been a vivid researcher and acclaimed trainer in the areas of Corporate Governance, Change Management and Strategic Cost Management and also represented India at the International Design Summit held in Milan (Italy) in 2013. The workshop started with the lighting of lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. Prof. Keshav Sharma, Dean Faculty Business Studies and Registrar, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Gautam Daluja, Member of Management, Brig. Sukhdev Singh, Director JK Educational Society, Sumit Behl, Joint Director Marketing, Admission and Public Relation, Rayat Bahra University, Lavleen Grover, Joint Director, Branding and Communication Department, Rayat Bahra University and S.K Singh, Principal JK Public School were also present at the occasion.
With further proceedings Brig. Sukhdev Singh, Director JK Educational Society welcomed all the guests and said that such types of workshops are important for senior teachers to train the youth.
The main objective of this workshop was to help teachers identify and understand the behavioural aspects of their personality and their teaching styles, to assist teachers in communicating effectively with all the participants in educational process and to help teachers become better human beings. The workshop was conducted successfully with a learning outcome to understand the importance of behavioural issues involved in education delivery process, identify various teaching styles and to be more effective as teachers. Dr. Raj stressed on learning than on teaching.
Later, Dr. Singh and Prof Keshav Sharma were felicitated by the Member of Management, Gautam Daluja. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Keshav said that work by your heart do not bother about the situation. By giving space to others in life everything can be OK and concluded by saying “‘Khudi Ko Kar Buland Itna Ki Har Taqdeer Se Pehle Khuda Bande Se Khud Pooche Ki Bata Teri Raza Kya Hai.”
The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by S.K Singh, Principal JK Public School, Kunjwani. He has taken this challenge on behalf of all the educators of Jammu to be together and move forward for the educational excellence of youth of Jammu.
