JKPS Kunjwani celebrates finale of year-long Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme with patriotic fervour

JAMMU: JK Public School Kunjwani celebrated the momentous occasion of 76th Independence Day in league with ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ being celebrated all over India to remind its students about the significance of 15th August and the importance it has in our daily lives, with great zeal and fervour.
Our national festivals remind us of the sacrifices long forgotten but not in vain, the foundations on which our country was built and the progress that it has made with time. It was a colorful and lively day, all the teachers dressed up as patriotically as possible, exhibiting the obvious color combination.
The programme started with Flag Hoisting. The Indian tricolour was hoisted by Director JK Education Society, Ms. Shashi Chaudhary and Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore and national anthem was sung by school choir with josh & joy.
Patriotism reverberated in the air as the students sang ‘HumaraTiranga…’ with great pride and ardour. Cheers of the celebration resonated throughout the entire school as song was followed by a patriotic poem, Enactment of Gandhi ji, a group dance by preparatory wing students and a dance on melody of patriotic song, which earned a well deserved approbation. A Skit with theme ‘Women in Indian Army’ mesmerized everyone. A recital on ‘Mein Bharat Hoon’, group song ‘Ho JaoTaiyaar…’ gave Goosebumps to everyone. Skating Show on ‘MaaTujhe Salaam’ and live painting by a Class VIII student stole the show.
Principal Rajesh Rathore, lauded the commendable endeavours of all the participants and teachers for paying a rich tribute to revolutionaries & freedom fighters and for stealing the show with variety, veracity & vivacity. He made a clarion call to the audience to cherish forever the supreme sacrifices made by our martyrs. To mark this red-letter day of Indian History, he sang a song, “Kar Chale Hum Fidaa, Jaano Tan Saathiyo; Abb Tumhaare Hawaale, Watan Saathiyo”, which sets tempest in the blood of the soldiers till date. He congratulated teachers and students for their incredible efforts.
Director Shashi Choudhary wished happy Independence Day to the students and hailed them to wake up to the call of duty as the nation summons them.
She reminded them of their responsibilities towards the nation and asked them to prepare themselves to serve the nation as good leaders. She apprised students that how visionary leaders of India laid foundation stone of Modern India.
She also accentuated that India has become 5th largest economic power in the world and how Indians are looked up all over the world and recalled the supreme sacrifices made by brave Indian soldiers. She added that we must feel proud to be Indians.
Vice Principal Shashi Rattan, Associate Vice Principal Roopinder Kour and School Coordinator Inderjeet Kour were also present on the occasion. Mishthi of Class XI and Hardik of Class IX did the brilliant compering of the programme. The celebration witnessed repeated rounds of thunderous applause from the audience.
