JAMMU: JK Public School (JKPS), Kunjwani celebrated the Children’s Day with gaiety and splendor.
As evident, this special day is celebrated in remembrance of India’s first Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, born on November 14, 1889. He was popularly known as Chacha Nehru. Children’s day marks Nehru’s devotion to welfare, education and development of children and young people. The day primarily focused on children and their enjoyment.
To mark this significant day, a Special Assembly was conducted by the members of the Staff. The assembly began with the lighting of the lamp by Director JK Educational Society, Shashi Choudhary; Principal JK Public School Rajesh Rathore; Vice Principal Shashi Rattan; Associate Vice Principal Roopinder Kour and School Coordinator Inderjeet Kour.
The programme began with the morning prayer ‘Tu Pyar Ka Sagar hae….’ sung by Sushma Sharma, Suchita Raina, Ruchi Sharma, Rajni Gupta, Rashmi Arora & Sumit Ranyal, which was followed by thought of the day by Harneet Kour. A witty and humorous verbal repartee was conducted by Neha and Kajal, wherein they reflected on funny situations pertaining to various subjects and made the audience enthralled. A heart-touching Hindi poem was recited by Suchita Raina.
A hilarious skit on the lifestyle of students was presented by Munish Gupta, Prince Sharma, Neetan Sharma, Kamaldeep Kour and Cherry Gupta. They made the audience burst into the peals of laughter with their brilliant script and humorous enactment.
Pranav of class 10 mesmerized the audience and received a thunderous applause for his melodious Kishore Da song in dual male/female voice, namely, “aake sidhi lagi dil pe jaise kataria”.
The Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore greeted children on the special occasion and invoked them to extend their best contributions to the society. Quoting Albert Einstein, who defined success in real sense, is to pay back more to the society than receiving from it. Feeling of co-existence and compatibility are the earnest need of the hour and every child must have a great deal of empathy for being a well-groomed person. To prove his point of giving more to the society and the world, he sang a song ‘Madhuban khushboo deta hae; saagar saawan deta hae….’. He sought a fair promise from the students to extend their best support to all those, who ever approach them ahead.
Director JK Education Society, Shashi Choudhary also graced the occasion and extended her greetings to the students. She quoted the words of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.”
The programme that was coordinated by Tina Narula, reached the culmination point with the singing of National Anthem.
