JKP wrestler Ishaq bags Nomain Dangal title

KATRA: The J&K Police wrestler, Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) clinched the ’15th Annual Nomain (Katra) Dangal title’ defeating Vikrant of Delhi in the main bout at Nomain, here.
Dangal was organised by Dangal Committee Kotli Bajalian Nomain in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the supervision of Mohd Sharief (president), Manohar Lal and Mohan Lal Kanathia.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and president Kreeda Bharti J&K was Chief Guest, who felicitated the wrestlers.
Naib Tehsildar Katra, Dinesh Anthal; Patwari Katra, Gulshan Jaral and Rashpaul Singh were guests of honour.
Prominent persons present on the occasion included Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Bashir Ahmed, Manjoor Hussain, Ved Parkash Pujari, former Sarpanch Roshan Lal, Deep Singh (Pinka), Rajinder Ramotra, Ajay Khajuria and Ram Chand.
Winner of main bout, Ishaq awarded with cash prize of Rs. 61,000 by Shiv Kumar Sharma while runners-up, Vikrant received Rs 50,000 prize money from guest of honour, Dinesh Antal.
The second main bout went to Babba of Kot Bhalwal who defeated Rancho of Haryana to get Rs 16,000 cash prize. Rancho got Rs. 15,000. In third main bout, Dillar Khan of J&K Police trounced Chandi of Maharashtra while fourth bout went to Neeru Gujjar of BSF Chandigarh, who beat Sanjay Chib of Jammu.
In total, 70 bouts decided in this day-long dangal and the wrestlers presented Rs 3.5 lakh prize money.
Members of Dangal Committee who helped in the conduct of dangal included Mohd. Shrief, Manohar Lal, Karan Singh, Mohan Lal Kanathia, Raj Kumar, Ranjeet Singh and Amit Sharma (ex-Panch).
The bouts officiated by Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Deepak Wazir, Tulinder Kumar, Pawan Singh and Sunny Sharma. Proceeding conducted by Anil Kumar.
