JKNPP seeks Rs. 1 cr ex-gratia for Jhanvi’s family

JAMMU: Neeraj Gupta contested MLA Jammu west and Zonal President Jammu JKNPP along with his supporters, party workers and other senior leaders held a protest against deteriorating traffic scenario of Jammu city and sought Rs. 1 crore compensation for the family of accident victim Jhanvi, who lost her life after being hit by a rashly driven matador.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta alleged that wrong policies of traffic cops besides unruly public transport system is taking its toll and the helmsmen sitting in the Government departments are acting as mute spectators.
He also said that main reason behind deaths on Jammu City’s roads is manifold increase in the number of vehicles with no expansion of roads infrastructure.
The Zonal President Jammu JKNPP said that immediate upgradation of roads infrastructure including fly-overs at number of places besides proactive traffic cops are the need of time and unless these objectives are not achieved, the traffic scenario shall continue to remain abysmal.
He was accompanied by Rakesh Gupta State Secretary, Rajesh Gondhi District President, Nirmal Kishore District President Rural, Simranjeet Singh, Manu Mahajan, Ajay Gupta, etc.
