JKNPP protests, seeks FIR against MLA Ramnagar

RAMNAGAR: JKNPP activists on Monday held a Dharna outside Police Station Ramnagar for shielding MLA Ramnagar against whom FIR had been lodged by the local people of Ramnagar for criminal intimidation, threats, attempt to murder besides other sections of RPC. The Panthers Party activists raising slogans against the police and the local MLA blocked the road in front of police station for around one and half hour seeking early initiation of criminal proceedings against the delinquent MLA.
Addressing the gathering, Akash Kharka, Block President Young Panthers Ramnagar said that the FIR lodged with Ramnagar Police by the local people on 15th March and 17th March had been thrown into the dustbin and contrarily cases had been registered by the police against the victims of assault committed by the MLA. He said that MLA had ordered his driver on 15th March 2016 to run over his vehicle on the peaceful protestors in front of Power Department office who were seeking replacement of damaged transformers in Ramnagar town and adjacent villages. He said that the MLA who was requested by the protesting people to take up the issue of power crisis with the concerned authorities, not only abused them but ran over his vehicle upon protesting people besides ordering his PSOs to open fire on the people demanding restoration of power in the town. He said that not only the FIR against MLA was disregarded but several innocent people had been booked by the Ramnagar Police at the behest of the said MLA. Rebuking the MLA for his criminal mind set and high handedness, he said that people would not relent until action under law was initiated against the delinquent MLA.
Sanjay Singh, Arun Dev, Uttam Singh, Mohit Mankotia, Pushpinder Singh and Vinod Sharma youth leaders also spoke on the occasion.
