JKNPP condemns sacrilegious attacks on Hindu temples

JAMMU: Deploring the back to back sacrilegious acts which took place in historic Aap Shambhu temple at Roop Nagar, Devika Temple at Udhampur and Shiv Temple at Nanak Nagar by some anti-social miscreants, JKNPP made a fervent appeal to all sects of the society to maintain communal peace and harmony at all costs.
Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP, while speaking to the media, condemned the profane acts of blasphemy and desecration at the revered temples of Lord Shiva which had severely hurt the sentiments of the people of Jammu Pradesh to stage massive protests.
He lambasted the BJP-PDP Government for providing comfort zone to the separatists which had further emboldened the mischievous elements to trigger communal tension.
Castigating BJP for towing the secessionist agenda along with its coalition partner, he revealed that Saffron Brigade’s slavish tendency had given strength to anti-social elements and fundamentalists in Kashmir who dared to change the names of Hindu places and shrines with a motive to erase the centuries old heterogeneous culture in the Valley.
Singh admonished the State government for disallowing the much hyped Abhinavgupt pilgrimage at Beerwah in Kashmir and condemned the attack on Kashmiri Pandits convoy by certain felons which was on the way to Kheer Bhawani fair on last Saturday night.
Harsh maintained that similar incidents had spun over in Jammu region as well to flare up communal passions and to scuttle scheduled holy pilgrimages like Amarnath Yatra.
He said that militant attack on CRPF at Kud recently followed by series of profane acts of desecration at historic Aap Shambhu Temple at Roop Nagar and Shiv temple at Nanak Nagar were the deep rooted conspiracy of the anti-social forces to disturb the secular fabric of Jammu region.
The JKNPP workers later led by Harsh Dev Singh also took out a procession from Main Stop Gandhi Nagar and passed through Hospital Road, Auqaf Complex and culminated at Gole Market Gandhi Nagar.
Addressing the people, Harsh made a fervent appeal to various sections of society to maintain communal harmony at all costs.
He further decried the government for imposing ban on Internet services. He further flayed the government for assaulting and arresting several youth activists of the party who were pretesting peacefully in Talab Tillo area.
