JKMS holds scholarship-cum-prize distribution function

JAMMU: To develop leadership qualities self reliance, spirit of mutual respect, co-operation and dedication amongst the students, JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School (JKMS) organized Protsahan 2015-scholarship-cum-prize distribution function in its school premises here on Monday.

Chief Guest of the function was Chairman of the School Prof. Mohd Ayyub Sheikh. Managing Director Sanjeev Gupta, Director Academics Rajni Gupta, Vice Principal Geeta Dixit and Coordinator Vandana Gupta, staff, prominent citizens of the area, students and their parents were present on the occasion. The programme began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by Ganesh Vandana.

The management of JKMS presented tablets to Raghav Sethi and Ansh Khajuria of Class 8th for securing 12th and 14th position in the board examinations for 2014-15.

Sheetal Dhar, who secured 7th position in 12th class Board examination was awarded with a cheque for  Rs 5,000, Sanchit Dass, Rounak Jalali and Rajaswini Sharma also   got a cheque of Rs 5,000 each for securing 11th, 15th and 19th position respectively in the Class 10th examination 2015.

Apruv Gupta, Aashna Gupta, Tanisha Gupta, Nishu Raina, Rooshali Jain, Swarcha Mahajan, Shubham Jain, Simran Kour, Sharvil Dhar, Ishan Koul, Rohan Luthra, Shruti Modi Ramandeep, Mahip Rajput and Dishant Manhas were also awarded for securing subject wise positions in 12th class Board examinations.

Prof. Sheikh inaugurated Protsahan 2015 scholarships to be given to students in this session like 100 per cent scholarship on admission and tuition fee for position holders taking admission in class 11th. 50 per cent scholarship on admission and tuition fee will be given to students who secure 90 per cent and above marks in 10th class board exams 50 per cent scholarships on admission and tuition fee to Leh/Ladakh and Kargil students.

Economically weaker students shall also be given scholars ship as per their merit in 10th class examination.

Prof. Ayyub talked about importance of curricular and co-curricular activities in schools and also he further added that stress should be laid not only on intellect but also on social and emotional development of the students. He was all praise for having counselling centre and students would be advised to choose their subjects and their career as per their performance and potentials. He added that each child is unique and proper care needs to be taken to identify the strong points so that the student can be guided for future depending upon his capabilities.

The students presented different cultural items which enthralled the audience.     K.J Fotedar presented vote of thanks.
