JKHCBA forms panel to spearhead AIIMS movement

JAMMU: The J and K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA), Jammu on Thursday formed a 70-member coordination committee to spearhead the mass movement for setting up of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Jammu. The decision was taken under the chairmanship of association President Abhinav Sharma (Advocate).
The Coordination Committee was constituted as per the unanimous decision taken during the all-party meeting held on 19th May 2015 in which representatives of all the non political organisations were also present.

Apart from Coordination Committee, an Advisory Committee comprising 15-member was also constituted, which shall advice the Coordination Committee to lead the movement.
Advisory Committee comprises, Abhinav Sharma-President, JKHCBA, Jammu; Senior Advocates V.R Wazir, L.K Sharma, U.K Jalali, B.S Slathia, D.C Raina, Sunil Sethi; Advocate S. Surinder Singh, Pranav Kohli-Vice President, Rakesh Gupta, T.S Wazir, Anan Sharma, Yash Pal Gupta, Piran Ditta and Annil Suri.
Rahul Sharma, Treasurer, JKHCBA, Jammu shall coordinate with both the committees.
JKHCBA President said that the first meeting of the Coordination Committee shall be held on 23rd May 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Bar Room of JKHCBA, Jammu. He requested all members of the Coordination Committee to present in the meeting in order to decide the further course of action.
JKHCBA, Jammu reiterated its demand by calling upon all the elected representatives from Jammu Province in the J and K Assembly and in particular to the ministers belonging to Jammu Province to immediately take up the matter with the central leadership for establishment of AIIMS at Jammu and to make a public announcement regarding the establishment of AIIMS at Jammu failing which people from Jammu province shall not hesitate in taking extreme steps of raising demands of stepping down of elected representatives from Jammu province.
