JKFFA pays tributes to soldiers killed in avalanches

JAMMU: Rich tributes were paid to the Indian Army soldiers who were killed by avalanche in glacier in Srinagar, at a programme organised by Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) in collaboration with JK Unity Trust at Dogra Shaurya Stambh Amphalla, here on Saturday under the chairmanship of JKFFA President Ved Gandotra.
The speakers, who spoke on the occasion, said that the brave soldiers had sacrificed their lives for nation and have set an example for all others to emulate. Ved Gandotra said that the demise of soldiers was very tragic and the entire society should salute the martyrdom adding that such sacrifices of the defence personnel had played a key role in protecting the country from the attack of enemies and maintaining its unity.
He urged the people to contribute their mite for the overall development of the country in all spheres.
“We all people of Jammu and Kashmir salute them for their bravery as they fight with strong will and for the cause of our nation,” Gandotra said.
Speakers said on difficult terrain the soldiers have to take care of in the border to keep the enemies at bay.
The soldiers sacrifice their present life for the betterment of the country’s future, they said adding that the people should not forget the brave warriors who lost their lives in the border.
A two-minute silence was also observed in the memory of all those who sacrificed their lives for nation.
The prominent persons present were Rajiv Mahajan (State President Shri Ram Sena), Pritam Sharma (State President Kranti Dal), Punnet Arora, Chairman JK Unity Trust Gourav Chopra, Sanjiv Luthra, Tej Ram Dogra, Prabhat Kapahi, Binny Mahajan, S. Rajinder Singh and Raj Kumar Tyagi, Puneet Arora, Manish Mahajhan, Raj Kumar Goel, Pershotam Mehra, Camres David, Kamal Kundal, Ashwani Handa, Anuj Mattoo, Nageshwar, Janmeet Singh, Manik Uppal, Tarun Uppal, Chetan Rajeev Luthra along with students of Luthra Public Schools.
