JKCCA, HEM Hosts all India painters camp

RAJOURI: A three days’ painters camp organised by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (Regd), Jammu in collaboration with Himalayan Education Mission Society (HEMS), Rajouri was inaugurated by Vibodh Gupta, MLC, Rajouri at Himalayan College Rajouri on Tuesday.

Mohd. Mumtaz Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri was the Guest of Honour on this occasion while  Abdul Hamid Fani, Chief Education Officer, Rajouri, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Sr. Leader of BJP, Dr J.A Qazi, Nisar Hussain Rahi were the Specials Guests. Senior and young artists from different states of the country are participating in this camp.

M.M Wani, M.D HEMS in his welcome address shared the vision of the Himalayan Education Mission Society to make this entire Pir Panchal Range a world class knowledge society with all the necessary ingredients of a civilised and healthy society focusing and addressing social, educational, moral, economic and other relevant issues. He stressed on the need for joint efforts for the holistic uplift of the border hilly belt of Pir Panchal.

While speaking on this occasion O.P Sharma, Director, JKCCA explained the aims and objectives of JKCCA. He said that the centre is serving the society in the field of art, culture and languages.

The artists who were felicitated during the function -Jang S. Verman, Jammu, Kulwant Singh Gill and Dharminder Sharma, Amritsar,  Prabhinder Lall, Chandigarh, Reena Choudhary, Sonepat, Chhaya Dubey, Bhopal; Amrit Kaur, Anuradha Devi, Sahil Ohri and Dhananjay, Jammu; Tariq Mehmood, Surankote, Jyoti Singh Gaziabad; Rakshanda Yadav, Bheem Tal; O P Sharma, Jammu.

An on the spot art competition was organised by Himalayan Education Mission and J and K Academy of Art, Culture an dLanguages, Sub- Office, Rajouri. The winners of these competitions were also given cash awards by the academy and supported with the mementos and certificates of merit by HEMS. Meritorious students and the other artists of the region were also honoured by HEMS on this occasion. An exhibition of the works of the participating artists by JKCCA and a book exhibition by HEMS were also arranged on this occasion.

Vibodh Gupta,  Chief Guest in his address said that art is to be recognised at all levels –may it be in the interaction of the society, dealing with situations, organising events or executing plans by the individuals or society.

Mohd. Farooq Muztar Founder Patron Himalaya Education Mission Society Rajouri appreciated the role of JKCCA in promoting art culture and languages in and around the State.

Other prominent personalities  present on this occasion included Nisar Hussain Rahi, Rajinder Gupta Ex President MC Rajouri  Sabar Mirza , Prof Haqeeqat Singh, Sr Maharajkar  Singh and others. Vote of thanks was extended by Mohd Saleem Wani.
