JKBSA president inaugurates 6-Ball Red State Open Tournament;Furkan, Ishuk win opening ties in snooker

JAMMU: Furkan Wani and Ishuk Choudhary among three cueists won their respective matches on the opening day of the 6-Ball Red State Open Tournament, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association(JKBSA) at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here on Sunday.
Except for Ishuk Chowdhary, all the first round matches remained one-sided affairs. While Furkan and Kunal had easy sailing over their opponents making it straight (3-0) Fame win while Ishuk underwent a tough contest before he clinched the game 3-2 against equally good Nikhil Kapahi.
Earlier, the competition was declared open by President of the Association, Sanjeev Gupta in the presence of Chairman, Siddharth Sharma and General Secretary, Vishal Abrol as also Senior Vice President, Jaideep Manocha.
Senior player and Treasurer of the Association, Sohail Khalid, Sunil Jain, Lokesh Sharma and Gurjeev Singh were among the distinguished gathering. Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel led by Marker, Rakesh Sharma.
The Detailed Results: Furkan Wani beat Vishal Manhas 3-0 (31-19, 55-26, 61-08); Kunal defeated Sanand Sharma 3-0 (34-18, 34-07, 34-12); Ishuk Chodwary blanked Nikhil Kaphai 3-2.
