JKBOSE Conducts National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Examination 2023-24

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Monday successfully conducted National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Examination 2023-24, a centrally-sponsored scheme for the economically challenged students studying in government schools, across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Out of 4310 registered candidates, 3713 appeared in the 56 examination centres in the Kashmir Division while 3001 out of 3341 appeared in 48 examination centers in the Jammu Division making for an overall percentage of 88%.
Chairman JKBOSE Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas congratulated the Academics wing for successful conduct of the examination. “Concerted efforts for the implementation of national welfare schemes will help realise the vision of Viksit Bharat,” he added. Secretary BOSE Manisha Sarin also expressed satisfaction and said that the successful students will be facilitated to keep up their studies. The examination was conducted under the overall supervision of Director Academics JKBOSE Dr. Sudhir Singh, who is also the Liaison Officer of this scheme. “More efforts shall be put in for enhanced participation of students,” he said.
The conduct of this exam was supported by the officers and officials of the Academics Division. Chief Education Officers (District Nodal Officers, NMMSSE) of all districts of the UT of J&K, Joint Secretaries (Administration/ Examinations/Secrecy) and Officers In-charge of Sub-offices/Branch Offices of JKBOSE led Inspection Teams constituted for smooth conduct of the examination.
JKBOSE has expressed gratitude to the Inspectors General of J&K Police, Jammu/Kashmir for providing security arrangements and to the Postmaster General, General Post Office, Jammu/Kashmir for providing logistic support.
