JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with Abhiyan NGO today organized a scintillating Dogra Folk music along with Dogra Khana as a part of three day Basakhi Festival-2016 organized by Department of Tourism.
Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi was the guest of honour.
While addressing the audience, Priya Sethi appreciated the efforts of Abhiyaan NGO and said that such events are essential to create awareness among the new generation about Dogri Language and Culture.
Folk artists belonging to various places of Jammu division participated in the cultural programme. Large number of people witnessed the programme which kept them spell bound for hours together.
During the programme artists enthralled audience with Geetru, Kud, Bhangra, Dogri, Pahari, Punjabi and other cultural items.
Secretary Cultural Academy Dr. Aziz Hajini presented the welcome address and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary Cultural Academy presented vote of thanks.
