J&K witnessed massive healthcare infrastructure development in BJP’s 9 yr rule: Priya Sethi

JAMMU: Priya Sethi, National Executive Member Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former Minister has asserted that massive healthcare infrastructure developed in 9 years of rule of BJP Government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been one of its significant hallmarks.
She said that might and efficiency of the nation in health and medicare sector came to fore during the Covid-19 pandemic and stands acknowledged by the whole world today.
The senior BJP leader expressed this in her address after inaugurating a medical camp organized by Medanta Hospital in Channi Himmat area here today. She complemented Pooja Grover and her team for organizing the medical camp. Priya Sethi said that while Ayushman Bharat Yojana providing Rs. 5 lakh cover to approximately 10 crore families i.e, 50 crore people across the nation is one of the greatest initiatives taken by the BJP Govt during its nine years of governance, at the same time the unprecedented expansion and upgradation of health care facilities and related infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir deserves a special mention here.
As a result of persistent efforts during the nine years of BJP rule, the facilities of indigenous medicines, oxygen gas and multiple health and medical related equipments and instruments with latest technology besides much more have further augmented the medicare and health facilities in J&K, she added.
The senior BJP leader highlighted specifically some of the achievements during nine tears of BJP rule at the Centre which include Govt Ayurvedic Medical College at Jammu, 400 bedded Bone & Joint Hospital, 100 bedded new emergency block at GMCH Jammu, 275 bedded new maternity block at SMGS Hospital Jammu; Cancer Hospital at SSH Jammu; SDH Hospital at Bhalwal, 2 AIIMS, 6 Medical Colleges and a Cancer Institute at SKIMS Srinagar. Last but not the least multiple organ transplant programme facilities are available in J&K today.
The former minister said that the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir had kept it isolated from the development occurring in other parts of the country, and that repealing of Article 370 has opened new vistas of opportunities for private investment in Jammu and Kashmir and kick-starts economic growth in the region. She stated that the government was working towards attracting private investment in the region to boost economic growth and create employment opportunities for the youth. She emphasized that the government was committed to ensuring that the people of Jammu and Kashmir received the same benefits and opportunities as citizens of other parts of India.
Concluding her address she said that the infrastructure and facilities get further augmented by holding of multi utility healthcare and medical camps conducted by the reputed and renowned medical institutions like Medanta and others. She thanked the Medanta team for organizing today’s camp for the benefit of the people of J&K. She hoped that it will conduct more such camps here in future too. Rekha Mahajan, President BJP Jammu South said medical camps also provide education and awareness programs about hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention. By educating people on how to take better care of themselves, these camps can help prevent the spread of diseases and reduce the burden on the healthcare system. “These camps not only provide healthcare services but also provide awareness and education that can help reduce illness and improve the overall health of the community,” she added.
