J&K tennis ball cricket teams bag silver

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir bagged runners-up trophies in both boys and girls sections in the just concluded 24th Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championships held at Karnal in Haryana. The title trophies in both boys and girls sections went to Goa, who proved to be better in both the categories. Earlier, in the semifinals, J and K beat Gujarat while Goa trounced Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, in girls section, J and K beat Jharkhand and Goa downed Uttar Pradesh.
Rustam Ali of Poonch emerged most successful bowler from J and K with 12 wickets in the competition. Imran Malik was named best all rounder while Abhinav Khajuria was named best batsman.
The team took part in the competition under the banner of J and K Tennis Ball Cricket Association and sponsored by J and K State Sports Council.
