J&K teams to leave for 45th Sub-Junior National Volleyball Championship today

JAMMU: The J&K UT Sub-Junior Volleyball boys and girls teams are leaving tomorrow for participation in the 45th Sub-Junior National Volleyball Championship (Boys & Girls) being held at Chandernagore, Hooghly (WB) from May 28 to June 1, 2023.
Prior to departure for nationals, the teams underwent 18 days intensive coaching camps at MA Stadium Jammu under the supervision of Ashok Singh Divisional Sports Officer (J), J&K Sports Council.
Sidharth Daluja President and office bearers of Volleyball Association of J&K distributed the sport kits and tracksuits to the players and wished both the teams best of luck for getting good results in the national championship.
The teams BOYS: Basu Sharma (Kathua), Abay Saini (Jammu), Kabal Choudhary (Kathua), Chandan Kumar (Jammu), Akash Manhas (Jammu), Shakir Ramzan (Kupwara), Surya Partap Singh (Jammu), Bilal Ahmed (Poonch), Rishav Singh (Udhampur), Abhishek Sharma (Jammu) , Surinder Singh (Jammu) and Karan Rajput (Reasi).
GIRLS: Ishika Sharma (Samba), Riya Rawat (Jammu), Krishma Charak (Samba), Sania Akhtar (Jammu), Sanjana Kumari (Jammu), Payal Sharma (Poonch), Gulzreen Tabassum (Poonch), Jyoti Raina (Rajouri), Gunpreet Kour (Jammu), Halima Sadia (Rajouri), Surbhi Kumari (Jammu) and Divyanshi Singh (Samba).
Subhash Shastri, Ishima Verma, Balbinder Singh Jamwal from State Taxes Department Ayisha Tabasum are accompanying the teams as managers and coaches respectively.
The J&K UT Sub-Junior Volleyball boys & girls teams were screened by a panel of experts headed by Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (J), J&K Sports Council and Satpal Singh, Manager MA Stadium Jammu on Wednesday.
According to Kuldip Magotra CEO Volleyball Association of J&K there is a great opportunity for JKUT girls team to display their outstanding skills in the championship from wherein selection of Indian Women Under-16 volleyball team is being made prior to participation in the 1st Asian Women’s U-16 Volleyball Championship to be held at China from July 1 to 8, 2023.
Amongst dignitaries H.S Gill Executive Vice-President, Vijay Kumar Magotra General Secretary, R.C Sharma Treasurer, Mohd Tariq Joint Secretary, Veena Kumari executive member of Volleyball Association of J&K interacted with the players/ officials and provided tips of the game on the occasion besides congratulating the team members for their selection from all across JKUT for the participation in this National Championship.
