J&K records 260 fresh COVID-19 cases, two deaths
39 new cases reported in Ladakh

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday recorded 260 fresh coronavirus cases, raising the tally to 1,20,137, while two more deaths pushed the fatality count to 1,869, officials said.
Of the fresh cases, 119 were reported from Kashmir and 141 from the Jammu division of the union territory, they said.
The officials said Jammu recorded the highest of 93 cases, followed by 69 in Srinagar district.
There are now 3,282 cases in the union territory, while 1,14,986 patients have recovered so far, they said.
The UT reported two COVID-19 deaths — one each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions — in the past 24 hours, the officials said.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 1,20,137 positive cases, 3,282 are Active Positive, 1,14,986 have recovered and 1,869 have died; 691 in Jammu division and 1,178 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 37,16,877 test results available, 35,96,740 samples have been tested as negative till December 27, 2020.
Till date 8,69,441 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,430 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,282 in isolation and 29,890 in home surveillance. Besides, 8,18,970 persons have completed their surveillance period Meanwhile, thirty-nine more people tested positive for the coronavirus in Ladakh, taking the infection count in the Union Territory to 9,394, officials said.
Ladakh has so far recorded 126 COVID-related deaths — 83 in Leh and 43 in Kargil — while 9,050 patients or 96 per cent of the total cases have recovered from the infection in the UT.
The officials said 31 of the fresh cases were detected in Leh and eight others in Kargil during the past 24 hours.
Thirty-one patients were discharged after successful treatment in Leh during the same period, they said. According to the officials, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Ladakh stands at 218 — 192 in Leh and 26 in Kargil.
