JK Public School’s team wins 1st Batra Group’s Mirchi Girls Football League

JAMMU: JK Public School, Kunjwani lifted the title of ‘Mirchi Girls Football League’ organized by Batra Group to lay out the encouragement and sportsmenship among the girls of Jammu and take active participation in the games like football, which is lacking with the interest of girls in Jammu.
The inaugural event of two-day League was held at Birla Open Minds, School, Channi Himmat, Jammu was done by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa.
The event culminated today in the afternoon with all the Teams looking cheerful to welcome Chief Guest, Ranjeet Kalra, Member J&K Sports Council & Member Governing Council for Sports Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board to give away the Winner’s Trophy- A beautiful & glittering 4ft Cup.
The crowd was enthusiastic and energised to live it up for the day. This scene at the venue made it more thriving.
JK Public School, Kunjwani lifted the title in a very competitive final, where the runner up Jammu Sanskriti School gave a tough fight in a final score of 3-1.
The Chief Guest, Ranjeet Kalra interacted with all girls’ school teams and expressed his happiness to see such efforts.
He encouraged all the teams and committed that soon another similar league will follow both in football and cricket.
He appreciated the efforts of the Batra Group, ASCOMS Artemis, Chanderbhagha Advertisers & Team Mirchi Jammu, to pull off such an event. He also extended his and JK Sports Council’s Support to all such future efforts.
Aparna Kohli, Principal -Birla Open Minds International School said that they shall always support more such inter-school events at their school and provide all possible infrastructure support for nurturing sports in youth.
Devinder Kumar Batra, while encouraging the students & congratulating JK Public School for win & Jammu Sanskriti School & Birla Open Minds School for a great game by all team players, extend his unconditional support to all girls who want to train and make a career in football. He said that , Batra Groups’ Pegasus Heros FC is always ready to provide any support to deserving & willing players.
Sumit Kakkar, Cluster Head, 98.3 Mirchi-Punjab-JK-HP also extended thanks to everyone present for always being such enthusiasts for making the event a grand success. He also talked about how the Mirchi team always plans to give the people of Jammu city.
