Glimpses of Maha Shivaratri celebrations at JK Public School Panjtirthi on Wednesday.

JAMMU: Maha Shivaratri was celebrated with devotion and religious fervour at JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi.

The Principal, Suman Banbah and the staff of JKPS Panjtirthi chanted the sacred Mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” and expressed, “The festival is a wake-up call to move away from conflicts and move towards truth, beauty, peace, and benevolence – the ethereal qualities of Shiva. Everyone was swayed away with the chanting of the sacred mantra ‘Om.
The Principal further wished, “May Lord Shiva’s glorious divine and merciful attributes remind us of our own abilities and strive to lift ourselves to heights. Happy Maha Shivratri!”
The Celebration Incharge, Surekha Bajju and Kiran Gupta explained the grandeur of the day to the audience and added, “Lord Shiva got knotted in a nuptial knot with Goddess Parvati in heaven and their marriage is celebrated on the earth every year as “Maha Shivaratri.”
This festival celebrated in veneration of Lord Shiva commenced with the Shaloks enchantment and followed by Lord Shiva’s Stuti by jakiians.
The icing on the cake was a beautiful and enticing ‘Tandava Nritya’, a vigorous dance that is the source of the cycle of creation, preservation and dissolution, presented by a Jakiian named Shritej of class 3rd.
Jakians chanted almighty name with devotion and displayed a skit based on methodological story associated with the celebration.
Jakians explained the role of lord Shiva in natural cycle. They also exhibited the wed- lock scene of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The matchless performance of Jakiians spiritually enlightened the audience.
