JAMMU: Celebrating festivals is an integral part of learning at JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi.
Keeping this tradition continue, JK Public School Panjtirthi celebrated Dussehra-the festival of pleasure, merriment and triumph.
Through such celebrations, students not only learn the significance of the festival but also learn to embrace all traditions and culture with grace and love.
Dussehra is a popular Hindu festival that is related to the great epic Ramayana, which symbolises Rama’s killing of Ravana signifying the victory of right over wrong.
It is also related to the story of Goddess Durga killing the demon Mahishasura.
The little jakians of Prep wing of JKPS Panjtirthi celebrated Dussehra with much excitement. The students also enjoyed listening to the Dussehra song sung by little toddlers.
Ramlila was staged by the students in which they presented the scenes of the banishment of Lord Rama from Ayodhaya. The primary objective of the entire show was to convince the students that no matter how intelligent a person is, his pride will be the reason for his fall.
They learnt how Ravana’s single mistake overpowered his entire wisdom.
The message of ‘the triumph of virtue over the vice’ was well conveyed through the play.
The auspicious occasion inspires not only to be truthful, but also fight for justice for the weak, and destroy seeds of malice.
Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah wished Happy Dussehra to one and all and expressed, “The day was filled with learning and fun. The students learned about the values of respect, humility and obedience and honesty which are the core of the great epic, the Ramayana”.
