JAMMU: The end of the holy month of Ramadan calls for the greatest celebration in Islam. Eid, the festival that upholds the spirit of brotherhood, love and secularism, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of JK Public School, Kunjwani.
Through their performances, the students brought out the significance of Eid.
The talented students of the school celebrated the glory of this festival , as celebrating multifarious cultures and festivals symbolizes the unity of the community, which our school takes pride in.
To commemorate the occasion of Eid, the celebration began with a beautiful poem invoking the blessings of Allah. When every human endeavour falls to nought, then the benedictions from the Lord above bail us out of every hardship in life.
The students of primary wing prepared a skit enlightening the spirit behind the festival. A simple yet poignant theme of the skit presented by the students of Grades III-V touched everyone to the core, wherein a boy named Saleem from a humble background happily offered the amount of money, meant for buying Kurta on the occasion of Eid, to his less fortunate friend Mohan for paying his long-awaited school fee. Such human values, instilled in students from early stages, go a long way in building their character as well as an empathetic persona.
It was followed by melodious Naat sung by the students of Senior wing which reaffirmed everybody’s faith in God. Its powerful lyrics, musical composition & soulful rendition left everyone spell bound. The audience appreciated the secular outlook of the institution, wherein emphasis is laid on the cosmopolitan grooming of students, which marked the presence of singers from all the four3 communities forming the choir group.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore, addressed the special assembly accentuating the importance of the festival. He also delineated the truth that most religions perpetuate similar tenets. He invoked students to foster strong and long-lasting ties with each other. India has been the cradle of humanity with its Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb since long.
He appealed everyone to live with love, compassion, peace, harmony and bonding. Only the feeling of compatibility and co-existence can make this world a better place to live in. He wished students and staff “Eid Mubarak”.
