JAMMU: The sprawling grounds of JK Public School, Kunjwani were transformed into a vibrant arena of colour, excitement, and youthful exuberance as the school hosted its much-awaited Annual Sports Day for the session 2025-26. The day-long celebration unfolded with dignity, passion, and spirited competition, truly reflecting the rich ethos and progressive vision of the institution.

The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest Snigdha Singh, an accomplished educationist and renowned school leader, currently serving as Advisor to SP Education Trust.
The mega celebration was further honoured by the benign presence of Raj Daluja, Chairman, JK Educational Society; Patron Davinder Daluja and Neelam Daluja; Director Shashi Chaudhary; members of the management-Sidharth Daluja, Sara Daluja, and Gautam Daluja; Principal Rajesh Rathore, alongside distinguished invitees, proud parents, and an enthusiastic student audience.
The ceremony commenced with the warm reception of dignitaries, followed by a melodious Welcome Song that set the tone for a morning filled with promise. The majestic hoisting of the School Flag, accompanied by the proud rendition of the School Song, evoked a deep sense of pride and belonging.
The impeccably synchronised March Past was a visual spectacle of discipline, poise, and unity as various contingents marched smartly across the field. One of the most captivating moments was the Lighting of the Torch, led by Sports Captain Suryavansh Singh, joined by the school’s distinguished national medalists. They carried the flame with honour, symbolising determination, integrity, and the indomitable spirit of sportsmanship. Adding vibrancy to the arena, the spirited troupe of cheerleaders kept the energy soaring with their colourful pompoms and coordinated movements, motivating each athlete with infectious enthusiasm.
Principal Rajesh Rathore, in his Annual Report, highlighted the school’s stellar achievements across academics, cultural platforms, and sports. His address reaffirmed the institution’s unwavering commitment to nurturing confident, competent, and compassionate learners.
A series of enthralling performances added artistic brilliance to the event, captivating the audience with their energy and emotion. “Krishna Avatar” by Class 5 exuded divine charm and grace, beautifully depicting mythological splendour. The soul-stirring patriotic presentation “Vande Mataram” left everyone spellbound with its powerful expressions and synchrony. Adding a touch of innocence, the toddlers lit up the stage with their heart-warming act “The Bond of Love”, drawing smiles and applause from all. Class 7’s impactful performance, “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan”, evoked deep national pride as it paid a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s farmers and soldiers. The field events witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of all grades. Sprints, relays, and skill-based competitions showcased agility, stamina, and exemplary sportsmanship. The day also included three rounds of Prize Distribution, celebrating excellence in multiple domains. Academic toppers were honoured along with national and international medalists who brought laurels to the institution. Students with 100% attendance and class-wise achievers were acknowledged for their consistency and dedication. Awards were also presented to outstanding performers in athletics, while coaches received Excellence Awards in recognition of their guidance and commitment. Additionally, the pass-out batches of Classes X and XII were felicitated, marking a proud moment in their academic journey.
A special highlight was the presentation of laptops to the toppers of Class XII for demonstrating outstanding academic consistency in Classes X, XI, and XII. Proud parents watched with elation as their wards received accolades on stage.
Adding distinction to the occasion, the coveted titles of Best Athlete (Male), Best Athlete (Female), and Best March Past Squad elevated excitement and prestige.
The event reached a crescendo with a spectacular Grand Finale, an elaborate cultural symphony by students of Classes IX and XI. This breathtaking production celebrated India’s cultural splendour through a fusion of classical, folk, and contemporary dances. The stage came alive with colour, rhythm, and emotion as performers beautifully portrayed the nation’s unity amidst its diversity.
Chief Guest Snigdha Singh, in her address, lauded the outstanding performances and commended the teachers and management for curating a flawless and visually splendid event. She remarked that true learning transcends textbooks and classrooms, emphasising that education is a lifelong journey. She reiterated that schooling must nurture character, honesty, truthfulness, courage, self-discipline, and moral responsibility – values essential for shaping confident, compassionate, and responsible citizens.
The ceremony drew to a graceful close with the Head Girl Riya Slathia delivering a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, parents, teachers, participants, and the entire support staff.
Chairman Raj Daluja formally declared the meet closed, marking the conclusion of an extraordinary day celebrating sports, culture, and youthful brilliance. The National Anthem echoed across the grounds, filling every heart with pride and patriotism.
The Annual Sports Day 2025-26 at JK Public School, Kunjwani stood as a spectacular celebration of discipline, determination, cultural richness, and youthful exuberance – a magnificent portrayal of the school’s spirit of Unity in Diversity.
