SRINAGAR: The third day of the 71st B.N. Mullik Memorial All India Police Football Championship was filled with thrilling moments and intense competition as 32 teams (16 matches) battled it out on the field.
Fans were treated to an unforgettable day of football, with some truly remarkable performances from the players.
Teams move mountains to secure a spot in the next round of the competition and were pulling their own weight to top the points table.
At Bakshi Stadium, four matches including three between the women teams were played. Results: Manipur Women Police beat Jharkhand Women Police by 17 goals to nil (Four goals were scored by O. Bembem Devi and three each by S. Rani Devi and Tababi Devi). SSB Women defeated CRPF women by three goals to two. Assam Rifles Women outplayed Tamil Nadu Women by two goals to nil. However, in the men’s team, Meghalaya Police beat Puducherry Police Vs by eight goals to nil (four goals were scored by Donalius Lapang).
At Polo Ground, Sikkim Police beat Chhattisgarh Police by nine goals to one; Matches between SSB and CRPF, and ITBP and Maharashtra were ended in a 1-1 draws. Assam Rifles beat Tamil Nadu by two goals to nil.
At Synthetic Turf Ground, West Bengal Police beat Himachal Pradesh Police by three goals to nil; CISF defeated Odisha Police by five goals to nil; Madhya Pradesh Police trounced Gujarat Police by three goals to one; and J&K Police outplayed Arunachal Pradesh by three goals to one.
At Kashmir University, Punjab Police beat Uttarakhand Police by one goal to nil; Kerala Police defeated Bihar Police by seven goals to nil; BSF Police trounced Assam Police by three goals to nil; and Police beat Delhi Police by three goals to two.
