J&K Mentors appointed for Districts

JAMMU: In view of the prevailing situation in the Union Territory, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has nominated senior officers as mentors for various districts to strengthen administrative oversight and public service delivery.
As per government order issued by the M. Raju, Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department, Shaleen Kabra, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Jal Shakti Department has been appointed as the mentor for Jammu district.
Other officers appointed include Owais Ahmed, IAS, Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, for Bandipora district, Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department for Poonch, Sanjeev Verma, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary, Social Welfare Department for Kathua, Vikramjit Singh, IPS, Commissioner/Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department for Samba, Sarmad Hafeez, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary , Youth Services and Sports Department for Kupwara, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, IAS, Administrative Secretary, Labour and Employment Department for Baramulla, and Bhupinder Kumar, IAS, Secretary , Public Works (R&B) Department for Rajouri.
The order mandates these officers for visiting the assigned district as often as possible, guiding the district administration in the ongoing relief, rescue and rehabilitation operations, reviewing and ensuring security of vital and vulnerable installations in the district, facilitating coordination between civil, police, army and all other agencies of the J&K Government and Government of India operating within the district, reviewing and ensuring availability of essential services like drinking water, electricity, communication, road connectivity, reviewing and ensuring availability of essential commodities viz. food grains, vegetables and petrol/diesel and LPG etc, resolving issues faced by the district administration for which they may flag issues to the concerned department(s) in Civil Secretariat and the Office of Chief Secretary, if required.
