J&K legislators visit Telangana Rural Technology Park

JAMMU: The visiting delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Legislators on Thursday visited Rural Technology Park housed in the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) at Usman Nagar Gram Panchayat of District Medak of Telangana State
Established by the state government under the aegis of Ministry of Rural Development, GoI, the Rural technology Park showcases housing models, sanitary models (water-less urinals), handmade paper, solar lights, ethnic jewellery, homemade products and other livelihood related activities.
The team of J and K legislators, Dr Shenaz Ganai, Javed Beig, Ishfaq Sheikh and Shakti Parihar went around the Rural Technology Park and evinced great interest in the innovative craft and technology being promoted by the Telangana Government for development of rural areas of the state.
The delegation also visited Zila Parishad at Sanga Reddy, Gram Mandal and Gram Panchayat and interacted with the members to know about the functioning and the initiatives at local level.
Later a presentation on status of Panchayats in Telangana was made by the Commissioner Anita Ramachandran.
The visit of J and K legislators has been organized by the Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayats J and K Government while it is being coordinated by the Center for Panchayati Raj at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (Ministry of Rural Development, GoI).
