J&K Junior Wushu team remains 5th in Nationals

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir finished overall fifth in the 21st Junior National Wushu Championship held at Calicut in Kerela under the banner of Wushu Association of India.
The J&K team bagged eight medals, including one gold and four silver medals in different weight categories of boys and girls. While Kaifa Shah secured gold in 56 kg category, Mohd Ali, Musharaf, Ajmal and Ansa Chisti won Silver medals.
Now, on the basis of performance at the Nationals, the technical committee of the Wushu Association of India shall finalise the list of the campers for the National Coaching camp for the upcoming 8th World Wushu Championship slated to be held at Indonesia in the month of December, a handout issued by the Wushu Association of J&K, here today informed.
Meanwhile, president of the Association, Vijay Saraf and general secretary, Bhavneet congratulated the team for the performance.
