JK Guv to CVC: Don’t spare any offender involved in corruption

Jammu: Governor N.N Vohra on Thursday asked the State’s Chief Vigilance Commissioner Kuldeep Khoda to strengthen the anti-corruption machinery and not to spare any offender in a bid to tackle corruption.
Khoda called on Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here. The Governor asked Khoda to take all possible steps to strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of the commission to visibly impact on the reduction of corruption and not to spare any offender, an official spokesman said.
Khoda briefed the Governor about various issues relating to the functioning of the State Vigilance Commission and the number of complaints received, sent for initiating action and the number of cases registered, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation Limited, Sheetal Nanda called on Governor, N.N Vohra, here. Nanda briefed the Governor about the work done since the establishment of the corporation. The Governor advised Nanda to ensure a foolproof system for the sample testing of all drugs to be procured and also lay a mechanism for the best quality medical equipments.
The Governor asked the Managing Director to lose no more time in commencing procurements, which would result in very significant savings to the exchequer and, besides, assured quality of medicines and equipments.
