The much hyped speculations about government formation in Jammu and Kashmir ultimately came to halt with the oath taking ceremony of re-stitched alliance. The desperations among the expectants of ministerial births turned out to be an occasion of jubilations. During the period of Governor Rule from 8th January 2016 to 4th April, 2016, the people of the State were all praising the decisions taken by the Governor and its continuation was liked by majority. During this period many of the ex-ministers/ MLAs were branded as inefficient, inexperienced and were even accused of indulging into corrupt practices. Their inefficiency and irregularities were even criticised by the incumbent CM. It remained a controversial seek and hide game between BJP and PDP on demand of more births in the cabinet with powerful ministries by the BJP and PDP showing them the thumb. Some of the BJP legislators even went to the extent of stating that they will think of aligning with other options and some indications were there from NC also. There were disseminations of ‘Not All Is Well’ within PDP also. The failure of direct talks about re-alliance of PDP with central representatives of BJP and re-alliance objected by saffron players during approximately three months melodrama, reported by media time and again, got re-stitched within thirty minutes of meeting between incumbent CM and incumbent PM. The negotiators of re-alliance prior to this meeting have to cut a sorry figure, when their concern was overruled by the PM leading to the installation of fresh government.
Without taking a dig into the new government and its ministers on board, some questions raises fingers to be answered by both players of this drawn match of politics such as;
* As there is repeat of same number of Cabinet birth from BJP, but went to their demand of more cabinet births.
* What happened to their demand of rotational CM?
* What about the inefficiency and inexperience of the ex-ministers as same are finding space in new cabinet?
* What about the allegations of indulging into corrupt practices with regard to transfers in engineering department?
* What about the mesh created in Education Department culminating to every day strikes and agitations by the teaching faculties?
* What is new vision with BJP ministers other than AOA, which stand outwardly rejected and objected by the people of Jammu?
* What about BJP MLAs who have been objected by contestants of civic elections from visiting their areas of contesting?
* Whether they have mustered courage and authority to take any decision without approval from their masters in Delhi?
* Whether they can pull on without the crutches from Kashmir as they stand of no importance to them as seen during three months serial on re-alliance
Repeat of same faces with almost same responsibilities except few changes are nothing for the people of Jammuites except to say that we have been served with old wine in new bottles. The only difference now is that, it is blended in Delhi without trade mark of saffron brand (Saffron players have objected this re-alliance)
Come what may as a well wisher of humanity, we must welcome the new government and let us bless the first female CM of our State with the hope that, as she has assumed the role of Godmother of the State, she should change the specks as to view the problems of common man and should come above the expectations in providing a good governance and a corruption free administration and will give a free hand to our BJP ministers to act them for giving a chance to win the confidence of the people which stand shattered at present.
Concluding we need to understand that we are not each others’ enemy, it is only the political class that derives its power by creating friction. It will be better if our new cabinet faces assumes the responsibility with the philosophy of great ‘Chanakya’ that “Before you start some work, always ask yourself three questions – Why am I doing it, what the results might be and will I be successful”, only when you think deeply and find satisfactory answers to these questions, go ahead.
More it will be better, if our new government will have a new slogan as;
“We will not agree on every issue. But let us respect those differences and respect one another. Let us recognize that we do not serve an ideology or a political party; we serve the people”.
