JAMMU: JK College of Education in collaboration with J and K State AIDS Control Society and Red Ribbon Club observed World AIDS Day here on Thursday. The themes of this year are ‘Right to Health’ and ‘My Health My Right’.
Slogan writing, poster making and symposium were organised under the theme wherein NSS volunteers of the college participated enthusiastically.
“The awareness of HIV AIDS is necessary for the masses especially students at the tender age i.e. adolescents because its having a devastating effect on the lives of millions of Indians,” Neelam Mahajan, Nodel Officer said.
In symposium, third position was bagged by Sonia Devi, second position was secured by Richa Rawal and first position was earned by Sugandha Thappa.
In slogan writing, Komal Mehta got third prize, Sonia Devi earned second prize and Namita Goswami earned first prize.
In poster making, consolation prize was won by Kamini Devi third position went to Namita Goswami, second prize was earned by Brojeshori and first prize was bagged by Ruchita Nandi.
Neelam Mahajan highlighted the social and medical aspects of HIV AIDS. She also quoted Gandhian Philosophy, ‘Hate the Sin, not the Sinner’.
