J&K beats Maharashtra, Chandigarh in National Volleyball

JAMMU: After losing first match against Andhra Pradesh, J&K team bounced back with comfortable wins against Maharashtra and Chandigarh in the ongoing 25th Youth National Volleyball Championship, organised by Madhya Pradesh Volleyball Association under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India at Panna in Madhya Pradesh.
As per the reports reaching here, J&K, in second match, made it a straight 3-0 win against Maharashtra with set score being 25-23,25-17, 25-18.
In the third match, J&K team also played well and outplayed Chandgarh with straight 3-0 (25-15, 25-08, 25-15).
Vipan Kumar, Mohd Riaz and Sumit Singh remained in limelight for their superb display of spikes and blocks thus helped the side to register two consecutive wins.
However in its opening match yesterday, J&K lost to Andhra Pradesh by 3-1 (15-25, 21-25, 25-19, 23-25).
Placed in group-B, J&K shall now meet opponents from Uttarakhand, Tripura and Rajasthan in the next outings.
In a message sent to team, Patron-In-Chief Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Raj Daluja and President Sidharth Daluja congratulated the boys’ team and officials for their brilliant display in the national championship and exhorted them to continue their efforts in achieving further success in the championship.
J&K Team: Vipan Kumar, Abdul Kariem, Nazakat Nabi Lone, Mohd Riaz, Mohd Yasir Dar, Sumit Singh, Danish Rasool, Arun Sharma, Kaushal Verma, Nitin Sharma, Vikaran Chalotra and Kanhaiya Bardhwaj.
