J&K bags 3rd place in Sanda Fed Cup

JAMMU: The State Wushu team remained third in Sanda event of the just concluded Federation Cup Wushu Championship at Punjabi University, Patiala in Punjab. The nine-member team of the State, including two women, secured two gold, four silver and two bronze medals in the competition to earn overall third position. The overall championship trophy went to Manipur while Delhi remained second, a handout issued by the J and K Wushu Association here today informed.
Medal Winner: Pankaj Raina, Abhishek Jamwal (both gold), Sahil Bhau, Kanchan, Heena, Chander Dev (all silver), Raman Sharma and Aman (both bronze). The team was accompanied by the international medallist, Kamal Kishore and SAI Coach, Kalyani.
The office bearers of Wushu Association of J and K congratulated the team and the coaches for their excellent performance in the Federation Cup. They also appealed to Minister for Sports and Secretary J and K State Sports Council for due consideration to this sports which has no infrastructure in both the provinces. During the felicitation function, Working President Vijay Saraf, Ranjeet Kalra, Deepak Handa and Sunil Sharma Vice Presidents and Kuldeep Handoo Chief Coach of India were present.
